| UFCW Local 536 met with the Kroger representatives on September 29, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. After a round of introductions, brief opening statements were made. First, President Pruitt enumerated a few goals the Union hoped to achieve. He emphasized that the membership insisted on remaining in the Midwest trusteed Health and Pension Funds. It would be a strike issue! The Company's opening statement, made by Cindy Bonder was positive in nature. In light of the on-going negotiations between UFCW Locals 1546 and 881 and Safeway's Dominic stores in Chicago and the fact that neither Health and Pension rates were available, an October date was tentatively set for the next round of negotiations.
